Detailed Itinerary for a 6 days Uganda Primates Tracking Safari

Day 1: Transfer from Entebbe / Kampala to Bwindi Forest National Park

After breakfast at your hotel of residence, drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest via Masaka-Mbarara with a stopover at the Uganda Equator for snacks and photos. You will continue with your journey with another stop for lunch before resuming your journey straight to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, where you will check into your booked safari lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Mountain gorilla tracking Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.

Early breakfast and briefing from the guides before you set off into the thick canopies of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest for gorilla trekking activity. Return to your lodge for some refreshments and set out for a community walk, a good opportunity for you to see the different ways local people in this area live, their traditional practices and what they do to survive economically, i.e., arts and crafts. You’ll be entertained by music and dance. Return to your lodge for dinner and over-night.

Day 3: Game drive and sighting of tree climbing lions in Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, you’ll drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park through the Ishasha Sector for an opportunity to see the tree-climbing lions that can only be found here in the whole of Africa. Check into your booked safari lodge, and later you will set out for an evening game drive.

Day 4: Boat cruise and bird watching along the Kazinga channel.

This day starts with an early morning game drive along Kasenyi and Queens Mile for a great chance of lots of wild game viewing. From your adventurous game drive, you’ll return to your lodge for breakfast, and later, after lunch and checking out of your booked safari lodge, you’ll set out for an afternoon boat cruise on the Kazinga channel, a great opportunity to get to see lots of hippos, aquatic birds, the Nile crocodile, and a few other animals that may be around the lake shores, cooling off or quenching their thirst. After your boat cruise, you’ll drive to Kibale Forest National Park.

Day 5: Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale Forest National Park

After your breakfast, drive to the park headquarters for a briefing about the activity of chimpanzee tracking. There is a good chance that you may get to see other primates in this forest as it has the largest concentration of chimpanzees and other primates in Uganda. Return to the lodge for lunch and later set out for an experience at Bigodi Swamp Trails, an ideal place for bird lovers. Bigodi swamp gives you an opportunity to view the lovely and rare shoe-billed stork, an endangered bird species. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight after your Bigodi adventure.

Day 6: Transfer from Fort Portal to Kampala
