Detailed itinerary for 21 days Uganda Rwanda Primates tracking and Wildlife Experience.

Day 1: Transfer to booked accommodation in Kampala or Entebbe

Upon your arrival at Entebbe International airport, you will be welcomed by your driver/tour guide who will drive you to your booked accommodation in Kampala / Entebbe for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Kampala City Tour

After breakfast, you will set out for a city tour of Kampala’s seven wonders. You will get to explore different cultural, religious, and commercial sites in this city of seven hills. Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Transfer from Kampala to Ssezibwa falls or Jinja

After breakfast, transfer to Jinja, the adventure capital of Uganda and get to visit different places like Ssezibwa falls and the source of the Nile. From your day’s adventure, you will retire to your booked lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Mabira Nature walk and Transfer to Mbale

After breakfast and checking out of your safari lodge, you will set out to explore Mabira forest on a nature walk and after lunch, drive to Mbale upon your arrival, you will check into your booked accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Mountain Elgon hiking

Enjoy breakfast with magnificent views and then set off for a hike on mountain Elgon. The abseiling which takes about 4 hours is a unique and thrilling experience, taking you to Sipi falls while going through different local communities and coffee plantations. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Transfer from Mbale to Murchison falls National Park

After your breakfast and checking out of your safari lodge Drive to Murchison falls National Park to the top of the falls to view the world’s most powerful falls, Murchison falls. Drive to your booked safari lodge and check in for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Morning Game drives in Murchison falls National Park

After your early morning breakfast, you will set out for a morning game drive, a good chance to see the different wild games as they awake to begin their day. Return to the lodge to relax, refresh and have lunch. Later, you will set out for a boat cruise on Victoria Nile to the bottom of the falls, an opportunity for great pictures at this point too. You will have an evening game drive and return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 8: Travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, check out of the safari lodge and set off early to begin your journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park, the second largest park with lunch en route. Upon your arrival, you will check into your booked safari lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 9: Morning Game drive and an Evening Boat ride on Kazinga Channel

You can decide to pack your breakfast and set out for an early morning game drive for a great game viewing of different wildlife as they tend to be more active in the morning hours. Return to the lodge and after your lunch, you will head out for a boat cruise on the Kazinga channel, where you will get to see the aquatic wild like hippos, Crocodiles and many aquatic birds. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 10: Chimpanzee tracking Kyambura Gorge in Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, drive to Kyambura Gorge for a chimpanzee tracking experience. Return to your lodge for lunch and later set out to explore the Crater lakes and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 11: Transfer from Ishasha sector to Bwindi Forest National Park

After breakfast, you will check out of your safari lodge and drive through the Ishasha sector to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Upon your arrival, you will check into your safari lodge and have lunch. Set out for a cultural encounter with the Batwa, a tribe that originated from the Ituri forest of Congo. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 12: Transfer from Kyambura Gorge to Bwindi National Park

After your breakfast, drive to the park headquarters for a short briefing before you set out into Bwindi forest in search of the gentle giants with whom you will get to spend a total of 1 hour observing and taking pictures. Return to the lodge for lunch, check out and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi, Uganda’s deepest Lake. Upon your arrival, you will check into your booked safari lodge and later head out for a canoeing adventure on the Lake while you get to learn the rich history and culture of the local communities of Bunyonyi. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 13: Transfer from Lake Bunyonyi to Rwanda

After your breakfast, you will drive through the hills of Kisoro enjoying the beautiful scenery, continue to the Katonah border and cross over into Rwanda where you will check into your booked hotel in Kigali and have lunch. Treat yourself to an evening of relaxation. Dinner and overnight.

Day 14: Kigali city tour Rwanda

After breakfast, you will set out for a city tour of Kigali, one of Africa’s fastest-growing cities. You will get to visit different cultural, and historic places like the genocide memorial centre, craft market and so much more. After lunch, you will get some time to relax and refresh and later in the evening, you will drive around the city to get a feel of the typical nightlife in Kigali and have dinner in one of Rwanda’s most popular restaurants. Return to your hotel overnight.

Day 15: Transfer from Kigali to Volcanoes National Park

After breakfast, transfer to the Volcanoes National Park. Upon your arrival, you will check into your safari lodge and have lunch. Venture out to the twin lakes of Burera and Ruhondo. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 16: Gorilla trekking Volcanoes National Park

After breakfast, you will have a short briefing before you set out deep into the Volcanoes in search of the gentle giants. Return to the lodge for lunch and later set out to Dian Fossey’s research center to learn about Gorilla conservation and its effect on the number of mountain Gorillas over the years. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 17: Transfer from Kigali to Lake Mburo National Park

After early morning breakfast, you will begin your journey back to Uganda’s smallest savannah park, Lake Mburo National Park with a lunch stop en route. Upon your arrival in Mburo, you will check into your booked safari lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 18: Morning game drive and Boat cruise on Lake Mburo

After early morning breakfast, set out for a morning game drive, a good chance to see the different antelope species as well as Zebras of this little Savannah park. Return to your lodge and later after lunch, you will have a boat launch on Lake Mburo with good sightings of hippos and aquatic birds. You will wind your day in an exciting nature walk while on the lookout for different tree species and various bird species including the rare shoe-billed stork. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 19: Transfer from Lake Mburo to Kampala / Entebbe

Check out of the safari lodge after breakfast and exit the park to begin your journey to Kampala with a stop at the Uganda Equator for pictures, equator experiments and a chance for last-minute shopping of different souvenirs and perhaps gifts and souvenirs for family and friends back home. Continue to Kampala for lunch and later drive to your booked accommodation in Entebbe for dinner and overnight.

Day 20: Visit Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary

The guide will pick you up at your hotel after breakfast and you will transfer to Ngamba, the chimpanzee sanctuary. Return to an adventure in Uganda Wildlife Education Centre and get to learn about the rehabilitation and conservation programs for wildlife here. Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 21: Birding at Botanical Gardens and later transfer to Airport

After breakfast, you will head out for a tour of the Botanical Gardens and return to your hotel for lunch, check out and transfer to the airport to catch your evening flight back home. Meal plan: F/B
